Year 1a Amazing Abstract Art
Over the last few weeks, we have been learning all about abstract and representational art, primary colours and the artists Paul Klee and Piet Mondrian. During our lessons, we have experimented with mark making, using different materials like pencil, felt tip pen and charcoal and we have been inspired by Klee and Mondrian. Klee described a line as 'a dot that went for a walk' so, we did just that. After taking our line for a walk, we filled in some of the spaces we had created with the three primary colours (just like Mondrian did in his abstract pieces). I think you will agree that the outcomes are fantastic and the children have really enjoyed our first art topic.
