Exploring shape in 1b

In Year 1b, we have recently been learning all about shape in our maths lessons. We built our own repeating patterns and can identify the 'unit of repeat'. We explored a range of different 3D shapes and learnt their names. We compared similar 3D shapes according to their properties and we got to test if they have a curved face or not by seeing if they slide or roll down a ramp! We can even find 2D shapes within 3D shapes by pressing them into playdough.
