Wardley Primary School

Work Together, Believe and Achieve

A very warm welcome...

At Wardley Primary, we are committed to creating a supportive environment, built on care and respect, in which all children are encouraged to believe in themselves and aspire to be the best that they can be.

We are an inclusive school in which adults share the highest expectations of all children. Across all areas of learning, we endeavour to build upon the children's individual personal strengths in order to allow them to fulfil their potential. We want every one of our pupils to believe in their own success, through the promotion of self-belief and determination.

Spooky fun in Reception This week the children in Reception have had lots of spooky Halloween fun. They have made potions, drawn around shapes to create Halloween pictures as well as exploring the outside and inside of giant pumpkins. They thoroughly enjoyed getting dressed up in their favourite costumes and singing and dancing together in the classroom and the garden.
Halloween Fun Miss Oliphant’s class have had great fun this week taking part in Halloween activities. They have enjoyed writing spooky spells, making collage ghosts, mark-making on pumpkins, dressing up in Halloween costumes and dancing along to the music. However, their favourite activity was making and eating ghosts on toast. They had to spread butter on their toast and decorate it to make it look like a ghost using bananas and chocolate chips. Yummy!
Year 1a RE Take a look at our first RE topic in Year 1
Year 4 writing - The Legend of Spud Murphy. Over the last 7 weeks the children have been reading the book, The Legend of Spud Murphy and then writing some very nice character descriptions about the incredibly cruel (or is she!?) Spud Murphy.
Year 4 trip to the library On Monday afternoon, Year 4 took a lovely walk down to Pelaw library as part of our Reading for Pleasure (RfP). The children had a chapter of Dirty Berie read to them and then they spent some time exploring the books available to them. We all had a lovely time and many of us can't wait to go back during the half term!
Nursery at Forest School The Nursery children enjoyed their time at Forest School collecting firewood.
Reception at Forest School During their Forest School session, both Reception classes collected fire wood, turned over the soil in the vegetable patch, played in the mud kitchen, and enjoyed a drink and biscuit.
