Year 1a - Geography - The UK

During the spring term, our geography topic has been learning all about the United Kingdom.  As part of our lessons, we have been learning the names of the UK's four countries and it's capital cities.  The children have loved listening to and singing the UK song to help them remember the countries and capital cities:

This geography topic, has also introduced 'rural', 'urban' and 'coastal' areas to the children.  We spent a lesson exploring each of the areas by looking at photographs and spotting features that can be found in those types of areas.
