Wardley Primary School

Science

At Wardley Primary School, we aim to use a “small steps” approach to science teaching that closely follows the national curriculum for science for years 1 - 6. We help children to develop scientific understanding and grasp scientific ideas. We aim to develop scientific skills in young learners. Through engaging and hands-on activities, children explore the wonders of the natural world, develop basic scientific inquiry skills, and cultivate an understanding of fundamental scientific concepts. The primary science curriculum not only encourages students to observe and ask questions but also empowers them to form hypotheses, conduct simple experiments, and draw conclusions. By integrating a variety of topics such as life sciences, physical sciences, and earth sciences, science at Wardley lays the groundwork for critical thinking and a lifelong appreciation for the wonders of the universe.
