Friday 19 December 2025 Christmas Awards Assembly As we reach the conclusion of another wonderful calendar year at Wardley Primary School, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey we've shared. Looking back, we are filled with immense pride at everything our pupils have accomplished; their growth, kindness, and dedication are at the heart of everything we do.

Friday 19 December 2025 Year 3/4 Christmas Party Year 3 and 4 had a brilliant time at their Christmas Party. We played some games and impressed us with their dance moves!

Friday 19 December 2025 Star Suite Christmas Stay and Play 2025 The children had a lovely time during the Christmas Stay and Play in the Star Suite. They enjoyed decorating Christmas biscuits, wrapping parcels, making cards and building in Santa's workshop. They also made Rudolph decorations to hang on their Christmas tree. Merry Christmas to everyone from the children and staff in the Star Suite.

Thursday 18 December 2025 Nativity in Reception Reception truly shone in their wonderful performance of A Little Nativity. The children sang with confidence, danced with enthusiasm and acted beautifully as they shared the story in front of a delighted audience of parents and their peers the previous day. Every child played their part with focus and pride, and all of the speakers spoke clearly and confidently, projecting their voices brilliantly. The audience was amazed by how polished and professional the performance was, especially for such a young group of children. Their hard work, commitment and teamwork were clear to see, and we could not be prouder of everything they achieved.

Thursday 18 December 2025 Reception Christmas Party 2025 Reception had a wonderful festive party filled with fun and excitement. The children enjoyed playing party games such as musical statues and pass the parcel, sharing lots of laughter along the way. The celebrations became even more magical when they were visited by a giant Gingerbread Man and Santa Claus, much to everyone's delight. After all the excitement, the children sat together to enjoy their snacks, making it a truly special and memorable time for all.

Thursday 18 December 2025 Year 4 DT project In Autumn 2, Year 4 explored systems, levers and linkages. We looked at two different systems with reciprocating and oscillating levers.

Thursday 18 December 2025 Year 5/6 Christmas Party The children in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed the festivities yesterday at their Christmas party. There was lots of fun and games to be had and they even had a special visitor who had them all doing the 6 7.

Wednesday 17 December 2025 Nursery's Trip to the Library Our Nursery children recently enjoyed a lovely trip to the local library. They walked there and back sensibly, demonstrating excellent listening skills and road awareness along the way.

Tuesday 16 December 2025 30 Hour Enrichment Our full-time Nursery children, who attend for 30 hours per week, enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities designed to support their development across all areas of learning.

Tuesday 16 December 2025 Christmas Craft Club Our Reception After School Club has been very busy getting creative with a range of festive craft activities. The children enjoyed taking part in a series of hands-on projects that encouraged creativity, fine motor skills, and lots of imagination.

Tuesday 16 December 2025 Year 5/6 Sufiya Ahmed Author Visit We were delighted to welcome author Sufiya Ahmed to our school for a very special visit. She spoke to the children about her journey to becoming an author and shared insights into the writing process.

Tuesday 16 December 2025 Year 6b Forest School Year 6B had a fantastic morning at Forest School with Chris, learning all about camouflage and concealment. The children loved hiding among the trees and covering themselves in the undergrowth as they explored how people stay hidden in nature.

Tuesday 16 December 2025 Year 6b Christmas Cafe Yesterday, we enjoyed our Year 6 Christmas Café with our grown-ups. The children sang some beautiful Christmas songs before taking part in a festive craft activity, where they made baubles for the Christmas tree. Everyone enjoyed hot drinks, biscuits and mince pies.

Friday 12 December 2025 Stay and Play Christmas 2025 This week, we were delighted to welcome our parents into school for a festive Stay and Play session. The classroom was full of excitement as children and parents explored a range of Christmas-themed activities together.

Thursday 11 December 2025 Christmas dinner UPKS2 To (almost) round off another week, the children enjoyed a lovely Christmas dinner provided by our wonderful catering team. The children enjoyed the meal and having staff eat with them as well.

Tuesday 9 December 2025 School trip to Jesmond Parish church It is that wonderful time of the year again where we make our annual journey to Jesmond to sing some carols and learn a bit more about Christmas.

Tuesday 9 December 2025 Year 3/4 trip to the Heworth Christmas carols On Friday 5th, Year 3/4 got the wonderful opportunity to go down to Heworth secondary school and experience the delights of their dance and music departments.

Monday 8 December 2025 Nursery's Trip to Forest School Our nursery children had an exciting Forest School session today, dressing in brilliant camouflage outfits and face paint that made the experience even more immersive. They loved practising how to hide among the trees, using their senses and creativity to blend into the woodland environment. Every child did a fantastic job and showed great enthusiasm throughout the activities. We were so impressed with how engaged, confident, and adventurous they were during the entire session.

Friday 28 November 2025 Christmas is coming! The children in Miss Oliphant's class were given a very special job to do today. They were asked to decorate the Christmas tree in the hall! Everyone was very excited and had a fantastic time choosing baubles and hanging them on the branches. We hope you like it as much as we do.

Thursday 27 November 2025 Christmas Dance Event On Tuesday 25th, the whole school were lucky enough to be part of a Christmas dance event with the Create dance centre. Rachel (who led the session) was excellent and shared so many amazing dance moves with classes across the school.

Thursday 27 November 2025 Interfaith Week 2025 During Interfaith Week, our school welcomed several local faith leaders who shared their beliefs and traditions with our students. Jonah spoke about Judaism, offering insights into its history and practices. Kirtida introduced key aspects of Hinduism, while Brother Khadim helped students learn about Islamic faith and culture. We were also joined by Andy Gawn and Rev. Lucy Moss, who discussed Christianity and its place in our community. Their visits encouraged curiosity, respect, and understanding across different faiths.

Friday 21 November 2025 Tiny Tasters visit Key Stage One In DT, the children in Key Stage One have been investigating how to make a delicious, healthy pasta salad. After looking at different food groups and choosing ingredients that are good for our bodies, we worked with the lovely 'Mrs Taster' from Tiny Tasters who showed us how to make our own amazing pasta salads that we then took home to share with our families.

Thursday 20 November 2025 Snowy Day The children in Miss Oliphant's class had great fun in the snow. They made snow angels, played with snowballs and made footprints. There wasn't quite enough snow to make a snowman but maybe next time!

Thursday 20 November 2025 Remembrance day The children in Year 1/2 loved learning about Remembrance day and the importance of remembering all of the people who have helped to look after us and protect our country. We watched a lovely animated video about the poppy fields before creating our own Remembrance day art work.

Thursday 20 November 2025 Year 4 Forest school On a very cold Thursday and the snow fall around us, Year 4 braved the field for a superb forest school experience. With new forest school leader Chris, the children spent the morning building fires. In quite tricky conditions they showed amazing perseverance and resilience. The result, two brilliant fires! (And some very cold boys and girls!)
